Mixology & More

Bartending is an accessible profession for someone who cannot afford the time or expense of a college degree. Training is relatively brief, and jobs are plentiful in most areas.  It’s a salary plus tips job, which means that you can earn more if you have a great attitude and are very good at what you do.

Bartending is also an excellent choice for someone who needs late hours. Maybe you need to be home with kids in the morning, and need to find work in the evening. What a great option! Many people choose bartending if they’re between jobs, as a second job, or if their current living situation is temporary and they can’t commit to long-term employment. Others choose it because they love meeting the public, interacting with people, and earning $100-200 in tips a night!

You’ll need some kind of training course to get started as a bartender. Most bars and restaurants only hire experience, trained mixologists. Typical bartender classes are a total of forty hours, divided evenly between theory and practice.

Basic Bartending Knowledge:

  • Mixology is the art of mixing cocktails.  You need to know, not just the ingredients, but the preparation techniques: From how to frost a glass to how to create the perfect lemon peel. You need to know the right glass for the right drink, and the difference between “shaken” and “stirred” (in case a superspy comes into your bar!).  Naturally, a mixologist also understands the different alcohols in their pure, unmixed, forms.
  • Wine Training gives you the basics of understanding wine. A sommelier course is a very different and more complex experience, but you should, as a bartender, understand how to judge the “nose,” color, and body of a variety of wines. You should know what different kinds of wine are, and what different concepts (dry, fruity, vintage) mean.
  • Beer Knowledge: You should know the different kinds of tap and bottle drinks (ale, lager, stout) and you should know how to serve each properly.
  • Bar Equipment: Know your jigger from your salt rimmer!

5 Reasons To Choose Vinyl Siding

The author, a vinyl siding nj – based professional home remodeler, reviews the key advantages of choosing vinyl siding over more traditional forms of siding, such as wood.

Vinyl siding today is not the boring, utilitarian product of yesterday.  With today’s production technology, there are plenty of products that offer attractive designs, are more energy efficient and can last longer than more traditional siding materials. This translates to saving time and money for you, the homeowner.  The following are some of the reasons why you should consider a vinyl-based product as the right choice for your home siding needs.

 1. Appearance

Cutting-edge design capabilities have helped create more selections in a variety of colors and understated textures that closely imitate wood’s rich look.  The trims and accessories now on the market also come in a wide array of style and color to satisfy any customer’s needs.

 2. Low Maintenance

From historic renovations to new construction, advanced vinyl siding provides the look of wood without the sometimes-costly repairs and time-consuming maintenance that wood often requires.  In fact, investment in a simple garden hose should be that you might need for your vinyl siding upkeep for many years.

 3. Durability

Materials used in vinyl siding allow greater durability and wind resistance, plus the colors are fade-resistant.  Color is present throughout the panel material so there’s no need to scrape, stain or paint it.  Also, there’s no worry about splitting, peeling or rotting, because it doesn’t occur in vinyl products.

 4. Energy Efficiency

Modern manufacturing processes have created vinyl siding solutions that now provide greater resiliency and more rigid construction that lets siding grip a house tighter for better energy efficiency.

 5. Warranties

Many vinyl manufacturers will provide a lifetime warranty, which can also be passed on to the next homeowner. This helps increase the value of your home.

Whether you’re looking at adding new siding to enhance the curb appeal of your home, make it more energy efficient or just cut down on the amount of maintenance you do, vinyl siding can offer significant benefits to save time, money and boost the attractiveness of your home.  All projects vary, but if you require the help of a qualified professional, make sure you obtain references and that the contractor is well-rated with your local better business bureau.

Ending the days of free hunting in Africa

Johnny Weissmuller 1924

Johnny Weissmuller 1924

The American actor who became the most famous Tarzan was Johnny Weissmuller. He depicted the character in the most convincing way that the young and old audiences at that time wanted to personally see the place where Tarzan lives. This kind of travel experience is now available to a lot of people through the African safari tours. Even though they would not have the chance to see Tarzan in action, they would definitely enjoy seeing wild African animals like lions, zebras, giraffes, crocodiles, and wild dogs. Organizers of safari tours ensure the safety of tourists by providing guarded vehicles and keeping a safe distance between people and animals.

Since time immemorial, Africa has been famous for its wild environment as well as its animals. Back then, there were places that used to be hunting grounds for local people and tourists alike. Those were the days when deer, elephants, and lions freely roam the vast African continent in great numbers. The hunting spree eventually endangered most of the animal species in the region. Some have become extinct and others are in danger of extinction. Because of this, conservationists and animal rights activists had to act fast. Their efforts saved a lot of Africa’s wild animals from extinction. The days of aggressive hunting for the wildlife of Africa are over. People around the world have learned that the carnage violates the principle of sustainability and wildlife conservation. Moreover, the changing environment has also taken its toll on many of Africa’s great beasts.

Today, many of the areas in Africa are already protected nature reserves. Hunting of wild animals is prohibited and punishable by law. Nonetheless, tourists still have the chance to see their favorite animals through a guided safari tour. Eliminating the close encounter between wildlife and humans is beneficial for both species. Park rangers roam the nature reserve to ensure that people who will still try their luck in hunting the animals will be caught. The animals would have the chance to flourish and multiply again. On the other hand, future generations of humans will still have the chance to see Tarzan’s kingdom.

WHAT IS A MODULAR HOME – OVERVIEW

Modular homes NC are built in sections in indoor settings like a factory or plant. Since modular home sections are constructed in a covered area, they’re least subjected to weather conditions like heavy rain or snowfall etc. In this way, there’s no construction delay at all. These homes provide 100% high quality sections; once the section is completed it undergoes a system checkup with the company’s quality control department; only high quality sections are cleared while others are sent back to the factory. Later, these sections are transported to the home site where local builders join and complete the entire construction. In this way your house is well-protected from adverse weather affects.

Modular homes are similar to regular homes and you may perhaps not guess it’s a modular home unless you were there to see the house manufactured and assembled. Manufacturers of modular homes provide a wide array of design plans. With the latest computer aided design programs you can either modify any of the standard plans or design a new plan to fit your needs, modular homes are flexible in design and modification; so almost any home plan can be turned into a modular home. However each manufacturer is different, therefore you need to ask if you could design your own home or modify existing designs. Read the rest of this entry

Cleanrooms are Used for Scientific Projects

One thing about mixology: It is kind of a science. The right mix of the right ingredients creates the right outcome.

We have observed last year on our research that most of the experiments were conducted in the cleanrooms. The cleanrooms are basically those environments that have pollutant free settings and atmospheres. Many of us also required cleanroom wipes  when we were conducting the experiments. The experiments were new to us as it was our first time to get exposed to manufacturing of semi-conductors. I personally noticed few things over there as well, and inquired from my supervisor about those things. The first one on the line was the different kind of furniture, which was known as cleanroom furniture. As per my supervisor, the furniture is easy to maintain and clean apart from the fact that it also produces very less particles as compared to the others. To me and my friends, that was something really interesting and totally new to experience. Read the rest of this entry
